more-inThe family of a 35-year-old woman who died after she was hit by a speeding car in 2015 has been awarded a compensation of ₹12.91 lakh by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) here. MACT presiding officer Rajeev Bansal directed New India Assurance Company Ltd. to pay her husband and their three minor children ₹12,91,312 as compensation. The woman, an attendant in a school in Noida, was hit by a speeding car while walking on the service road on October 19, 2015. The tribunal also considered the fact that she earned ₹10,000 per month, while her husband, a tea vendor, claimed to earn ₹200 per day. The car driver and owner did not appear during the proceedings and were proceeded ex parte by the tribunal.
