On the directions of PFA Director General Noorul-Amin Mengal, PFA food safety officers checked more than 375 wedding halls and imposed fines of more than Rs600,000 on 17 wedding halls. PFA officials sealed nine wedding halls in Lahore, two in Gujranwala and one each in Multan and Rawalpindi. Mengal said that all catering companies were sealed for serving substandard food in the events. He said that PFA teams were checking wedding halls and catering companies on a daily basis for ensuring the presence of healthy food in wedding ceremonies.
