The capital city of Bangladesh, Dhaka has been placed among one of the least safe cities in the world by The Economist’s Safe Cities Index 2017. The safe cities index ranks 60 cities across the world based on 49 indicators, including digital security, health security, infrastructure security and personal security. In the digital security index, Dhaka is placed at 58th position with a score of 38.33. In the infrastructure security category, Dhaka has been placed at the bottom of the index with a score of 38.42. In the personal security index, Dhaka was placed at the 43rd position, while Karachi was placed at the bottom.
