Khasru: Legal action against CJ if found guilty in probe

President of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Matin Khasru has said legal action will be taken against Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha if the allegations brought against him are found to be true in investigation. He made the statement while addressing a programme in Comilla on Saturday. He said: “In a letter, he [chief justice] pleaded to the president seeking leave because of medical issues and now he has verbally said he is not sick. The statement said that the written statement that Sinha supplied to journalists on Friday night before his departure was confusing and the Supreme Court had issued this statement to clarify the matter. The chief justice left for Australia on Friday night, issuing a statement to the press that he was not ill and had been embarrassed by the prime minister’s criticism against him.
