Students shave heads to support cancer fundraiser

Waiopehu College student Elli Guilford has her head shaved as part of a school fundraiser to raise money for cancer awareness. A group of Levin students didn’t hesitate about having their heads shaved in the name of a good cause. Students from Waiopehu College in Levin volunteered to have their heads shaved on Friday as part of a fundraiser for Shave For a Cure for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand. Some students were sporting crazy hair or wigs in support and even principal Mark Robinson was sporting a tartan cap with orange hair. Student Alexis Farr-Van Hagen, 18, had her short hair shaved by friend Charli Robinson, 17, and then was handed cash from her school-mates for the fundraiser.
