Two vehicles were involved in a fatal crash on State Highway 1 just north of Cheviot in North Canterbury on Sunday afternoon. One person has died and two people are injured after two vehicles crashed just north of Cheviot in North Canterbury. Police were alerted to the crash on State Highway 1 (Parnassus Rd), between Factory and Levin roads, just after 2pm on Sunday. St John confirmed one person had died, and two were injured – one seriously and one moderately. State Highway 1 is closed around the scene of the accident, New Zealand Transport Agency said, with detours in place and delays likely.
