The Toronto Star's annual High School newspaper Award winners and runner-ups show off their plaques at the Vaughan Press Centre. The Reckoner app, launched by the 75-member staff of the Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute Reckoner, allows the school’s more than 1,600 students to easily access online updates and news. It recognizes an “outstanding person with passion, desire and a strong work ethic.”Article Continued Below “The app market is exploding, so that’s the place we need to be,” said Vadivelu, who added there is no reason a student newspaper shouldn’t be on the cutting edge.
