A private university student has received severe injuries after a brick fell on his head from an under-construction building in Dhaka’s Mohammadia housing area on Friday. The injured, Md Akhidul Islam, is a student of the Fine Arts Department at the University of Development Alternative (UDA). Mohammadpur police station OC Jamal Uddin Mir said: “Akhidul’s elder sister Nasrin Hossain has filed a complaint in connection to the accident. She said a brick fell on Akhidul’s head while he was passing by the construction site which left him unconscious. We will take further action with the cooperation of Akhidul’s relatives.”Akhidul’s family claimed that the building owner was negligent and did not take safety measures as instructed by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk).
