A Dhaka court has granted bail to Gonojagoron Moncho spokesperson Imran H Sarker in a defamation case filed for his derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zaman passed the order on Sunday when they surrendered before it and sought bail. The court also granted bail to cultural activist Sanatan Ullash when he surrendered before it in the same case. Earlier that day, Bangladesh Chhatra League Education and Study Circle Secretary Golam Rabbani filed the case against Imran and cultural activist Sanatan Ullash. According to the case statement, Imran and Sanatan chanted defamatory slogans against the prime minister during a process brought out on May 28 protesting the removal of Greek goddess Themis from the Supreme Court premises.
