Ms Heverin asked in an accompanying webchat: "If the British military makes them feel uncomfortable why did they come to a British uni?" Moments later, she wrote: "Rule, Britannia." Rule, Britannia is a poem by Scottish playwright James Thomson, which was set to music by English composer Thomas Arne in 1740. Last year, plans to drop it from the Proms due to Black Lives Matter protests sparked a row, resulting in Rule, Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory being sung by a small choir. A spokeswoman for the Aberdeen University Students' Association declined to comment.
