Large groups of people met at Sefton Park in Liverpool to celebrate St Patrick's Day, prompting police to issue 43 fines for breaching coronavirus regulations. Officers were called to reports of large groups gathering at Sefton Park and issued 43 fixed penalty notices to people who refused to leave the area when told to do so. A dispersal order for Sefton Park and its surrounding areas was in place until 6am this morning after police said it would "not tolerate irresponsible individuals". A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.05pm on Wednesday, 17 March, police received a report of groups gathering at The Meadows in Edinburgh.
