Moi Avenue came to a standstill on Friday afternoon when a plain clothes police officer beat up a street urchin. The street urchin was temporarily held at the Mount Kenya University grounds town campus, as the officer called for back-up. The street urchin had allegedly attempted to yank a side mirror from a black Land Cruiser parked outside Nairobi Sports House. The Land Cruiser reportedly belonged to the chairman of Mount Kenya University. The officer, who was inside the vehicle as this was happening, immediately got out to catch the culprit.
