An Australian premium mixer drink, StrangeLove Salted White Grapefruit, has been recalled in New Zealand because the glass bottles may contain too much carbonation and shatter if opened, causing injury. Strangelove Beverage Co chief executive David Temminghoff said the recall was restricted to a specific batch of about 70 cases. “This is due to possible excess carbonation and the potential for the bottle to shatter,” he said. No other batches of the drink or any other StrangeLove products had been affected, Temminghoff said.
