Pupils at 13 primary and intermediate schools across Otago experienced classical music as played by the experts from Dunedin Symphony Orchestra this week. A group of six musicians is visiting schools this week as part of the orchestra’s annual outreach programme, which aims to introduce young people to music and instruments. This programme features some well-known and not so familiar pieces played on a selection of orchestral instruments. At least half the programme is from the classical repertoire. The programme is aimed at Year 1-8 pupils.
