Stranded Chinese farmers homeward bound after JB job scam - Nation


JOHOR BARU: Seven Chinese nationals, who were stranded at the airport after being cheated in a job scam, are flying to Guangzhou at 10pm Sunday and another 18 will leave on another flight Monday. He said relatives and friends of the 25 farmers in China raised the money to buy the tickets for them to return home. He said the Chinese embassy in Kuala Lumpur had asked him to help the farmers by providing them meals and accommodation before leaving the country. He said there were many such victims being duped by bogus agents in China. Chan said the bogus agents use the ongoing mega property development projects by China-based developers in Iskandar Malaysia to cheat the unsuspecting farmers.
