Stolen police Taser fired outside crowded Winnipeg nightclub

A Taser that was stolen from Winnipeg police earlier this month was shot at people outside a Winnipeg nightclub early Saturday morning. Winnipeg police say a 19-year-old man armed with the Taser began confronting a crowd at a bar in the Exchange District at around 2 a.m. Saturday. The man fired the Taser and people in the crowd ran away, police said Sunday. The incident happened outside District Stop on Bannatyne Avenue — the same area the Taser was stolen from on Sept. 3. The man faces a number of charges including assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, theft under $5,000, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm.
