Stocks open broadly higher

Stocks are opening broadly higher on Wall Street as global markets continue to recover after Britain's vote to break with the European Union. Banks, materials stocks and energy companies posted gains in early trading Wednesday. European markets also posted solid gains, and the pound edged up against the dollar following its plunge after the British vote last week. The Dow was up 121 points, or 0.7%, to 17,525. General Electric was up 2%, the most in the Dow Jones industrial average.
