NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of HCL Technologies(up 0.62 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.On the other hand, Mindtree(down 3.45 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 2.57 per cent), MPhasis(down 2.39 per cent), Infosys(down 2.35 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 1.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.The Nifty IT index closed 1.52 per cent down at 34966.25.Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 88.3 points at 17415.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 323.34 points at 58340.99.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd. and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.Shares of Marshall Machines, Latent View Analytics Ltd., Kabra Extrusion, Elgi Equipments and MTAR Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Spandana Sphoorty, Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd. and Supreme Infra hit their fresh 52-week lows.
