Getting traded to the Vancouver Giants bought Connor Horning a little mother-son bonding time. Horning loaded up his 2005 Ford Focus and made the five hour or so trek to Calgary from Swift Current. The Giants, according to general manager Barclay Parneta, were adamant that Horning had someone with whom to share the ride. He’s originally from Yorkton, Sask., which is a four-hour, 30-minute drive from Swift Current. Horning put up eight goals and 31 points in 68 regular season games with the Broncos last season.
