State will help disabled people lead normal lives, says Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto yesterday said the government will empower people living with disability to enable them to lead normal lives. Ruto said efforts are being made to ensure children with special needs are given the opportunity to achieve their goals in life. Speaking when he toured St Mary’s Rehabilitation Centre in Mbiuni, Machakos county, the DP said children with disability deserve to learn, play and interact with their peers. He said the government will partner with civil society organisations, churches, non-governmental organisations among other players to assist people living with disability to make their contribution in development.
