Startup Arris, Incubated In Ex-Autodesk CEO's Personal Shop, Comes Out Of Stealth With New Way Of Manufacturing Composite Parts And $10M Funding

Tomorrow, Escowitz plans to bring Arris Composites and its technology out of stealth with a presentation at the Rapid + TCT trade show in Detroit. Bass became an early investor and adviser to the company, and Escowitz moved the startup into Bass's personal shop in Berkeley. Ultimately, Escowitz said, Arris will sell its custom-designed machines to manufacturers rather than doing production runs in-house. But as he prepared to come out of stealth, Escowitz was focused on the potential in markets as diverse of mobile phones and car parts.
