Carrie Fisher makes her posthumous return to the franchise in Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalker as General Leia Organa through the use of unused footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. One user said: "Finally watched the Star Wars trailer. Yep, I'm going to be crying over Carrie Fisher for this whole movie." Another fan surmised this nicely with: "Carrie Fisher will live on forever and I am so glad she will have a role in #EpisodeIX." Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
