Standard Chartered Bank (Kenya) has adjusted its dividend payout to shareholders downwards, blamed on “economic crisis” brought about by the Covid-19. The board had resolved to recommend to the shareholders of the company for their approval at the Annual General Meeting,the payment of a final dividend of Sh15.00. The proposed final dividend was to be paid to shareholders registered on the company’s register at the close of business on April 27, 2020. "and instead recommend to the shareholders the payment of a final dividend for the year ended December 31, 2019 of Sh7.50 for every ordinary share of Sh5.00.” she said. The dividend will be payable to shareholders registered on the company’s register at the close of business on April 27 2020.
