Staff, students of Keramat tahfiz school to undergo fire safety trainingSOO WERN JUNKUALA LUMPUR: Staff and students of the Darul Quran Iftifaqiyyah tahfiz school in Keramat will be receiving fire safety training from the Fire and Rescue Department. The school’s principal Muhammad Zahid Mahmod said they have engaged the department to assist with fire safety training following last Thursday’s (Sept 14) deadly fire which claimed 23 lives. Of the 23 people who died in the tragedy, 21 were students while the other two were the school’s wardens. “The fire tragedy is a lesson not only for us but to all those are operating tahfiz schools out there. Police said their probe showed that the fire at the building was started by a group of local teenage boys following a dispute with some of the tahfiz students.
