NewsSri Lanka will hold talks with the UN Department of Peace Operations, regarding the repatriation of a Sri Lankan Army unit and individual officers currently serving with the UN Peacekeeping operation, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The UN yesterday decided to repatriate a Sri Lankan Peacekeeping unit due to concerns on the appointment of Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva as the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. Secretary, Ministry Foreign Affairs who is leading a delegation at the 74th General Assembly session which is currently underway in New York will take up this matter.
