Pressure is now being exerted by social media activists on Avril Conroy, head of retail operations at Russia’s largest oil producer Rosneft. The attack on Ukraine is likely to put a new spotlight on senior Irish executives in Russian state-linked industries, including banks and the oil and gas sector. BP’s Bernard Looney, the most senior Irish figure at any Russian business, is to step down as a director of oil giant Rosneft with immediate effect. “I am no longer working at Sberbank,” Mr Corrigan told the Irish Independent in a statement from Moscow. A move to Russian oil firm TNK-BP followed, which saw her work in the downstream unit and later as head of the performance unit of its Central Europe division.
