GEORGE TOWN: A Special Branch officer was found outside a karaoke centre here after he was believed to have fallen off the building. George Town OCPD Asst Comm Che Zaimani Che Awang said workers of a hotel, also part of the building, discovered the body of 47-year-old Sofian Shahari in the parking space at about 4.45am on Monday (Dec 17). “The victim is attached to the Special Branch division and has served in the police for 19 years. “Initial investigations at the scene turned up his bag and slipper on the second floor but there were torn curtains at the karaoke centre's walkway on the fourth floor. He also said among the items missing from the victim were his authority card and mobile phone, while a review of CCTV footage showed Sofian falling at 4.23am.
