New York (CNN Business) After months of anticipation, SpaceX's new crew-worthy spacecraft, Crew Dragon , reached its last major milestone in a years-long testing program. Crew Dragon then used onboard thrusters to orient the vehicle as it fell back toward Earth. Though the US space agency paid the companies to develop their vehicles, Boeing's Starliner and SpaceX's Crew Dragon are privately owned and operated. Final certification for SpaceX's Crew Dragon, however, could happen in the coming weeks. Boeing will not conduct a test analogous to SpaceX's in-flight abort test.
