Southland's Amy du Plessis has got a taste of playing for the Black Ferns and she now finds herself in contention for a shot at a Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next year. du Plessis admitted her rise to the Black Ferns this year had caught her off guard. With Southland not having a Farah Palmer Cup team du Plessis now lines up for the Otago Spirit at provincial level. If du Plessis was to pick up a contract she would join the Black Ferns again for a camp in January. Naturally, du Plessis would love to play in a World Cup, let alone a World Cup played in New Zealand.
