Southern California home prices and sales rose sharply in December from a year earlier, continuing a pandemic housing boom experts say is in large part driven by rock-bottom mortgage rates and people seeking out more space. Data from DQNews show that prices and sales rose in all Southern California counties last month. In Los Angeles County, the median price rose 11.4% from a year earlier to $700,000, while sales climbed 26%. In San Bernardino County, the median price rose 12.7% to $400,000, while sales climbed 34.7%. In San Diego County, the median price rose 12.2% to $645,000, while sales climbed 27.1%.
