South Sudan Values Its Ties with Ethiopia - AmbassadorJanuary 24, 2017 - James Pitia Morgan, South Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union underlined that his country gives considerable attention to its relation with and support from Ethiopia in difficult times, according to FBC report. He met and held discussion with Hirut Zemene, State Minister for Foreign Affairs over the week. During the discussion, State Minister Hirut noted that the people of Ethiopia and South Sudan have long standing brotherly relations and that it is in this spirit of good neighborliness and cooperation that Ethiopia is continuously focused on bringing durable peace that would lead to a strong and prosperous South Sudan. Ambassador James affectionately articulated Ethiopia as his second home and that this sentiment is shared among South Sudanese. He noted with gratitude the important role Ethiopia played in the South Sudanese peace process particularly since the recent conflict erupted in 2013.
