The South Korean foreign minister has reportedly apologised for causing “public concern” after a New Zealander was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Korean diplomat. The complainant remains an employee of the South Korean embassy in Wellington. The South Korean embassy in the Philippines did not respond to an earlier attempt to reach Kim for comment. It sought waivers from immunity from both the South Korean ambassador and the South Korean Government in September 2019, so police could investigate the allegations at the embassy.
