South Africa’s agriculture sector continues to show growth with opportunities for further expansion through, among others, renewable energy applications. The newly release Market Intelligence Reports (MIR) focuses on five categories: EVs, water, sustainable agriculture, energy services and large-scale renewable energy services. The indicators for confidence in the agriculture sector are also positive, aided by weather forecasts predicting good rains for the next planting season. “Increasing average temperatures, weather volatilities and water scarcity could reshape the way South Africa’s agricultural sector continues to produce,” the report noted. “Statistics taken from the Census of commercial agriculture, 2017 released by Statistics South Africa (StatsSA).
