Chris Bertish completed a 93-day, 7500km journey across the Atlantic Ocean on a stand-up paddleboard when he arrived in the West Indian island of Antigua on Friday (Saturday NZ time). Starting in Morocco, the 42-year-old big wave surfer and sailor used a custom-made six-metre long paddleboard which cost US$120,000 (NZ$173,000) and took six months to build. "Across the entire Atlantic Ocean and I am finally here, I am here & and I don't need to be strong and keep it together any longer, it's been 93 days and it's done and I let it all go...
