Son of Exclusive Brethren speaks about sexual, physical abuseSTUFF An Exclusive Brethren who raped his wife is on trial in the Palmerston North District Court for allegedly raping his son. The defence says the son is lying because he knows his father raped his mother and wants to get back at him. Part of it has focused on the culture of the Exclusive Brethren church as the family were members at the time of the alleged offending. He said his father raped him behind his workplace, in the sand dunes of a nearby beach, and possibly in a forest. The son said his father raped him once contact started again, leaving him in pain for some time after, he said.
