Some schools closed or delayed opening on Wednesday as a messy winter storm made its way across Nova Scotia. Schools in the Halifax and Annapolis Valley regions delayed opening by two hours. On the South Shore, schools in Lunenburg County delayed opening two hours and had backup road closure plans in place. As well, schools of Conseil scolaire acadien provincial were closed or delayed opening. Many provincial roads were covered or partially covered with snow Tuesday morning, according to the Nova Scotia 511 map.
