Soleimani 'not linked' to Bangkok attacksSoleimani: Killed in drone attackInternational security has worsened after a US air strike on Friday killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a warning of "severe revenge". The death of Soleimani, commander of Iran's elite Quds Force and architect of its growing military influence in the Middle East, and several Iraqi militiamen, has similarities to a bomb blast in Bangkok nearly eight years ago. Two Iranian suspects -- Saeid Moradi, 28, and Mohummad Khazaei, 42 -- were arrested. Israel's then-vice prime minister Moshe Yaalon named Soleimani as the mastermind of the attacks in the three countries. Iran is accused of extending its power across the Middle East through proxy militias allegedly led by Soleimani.
