Social media is a valuable tool for improving health awareness in AfricaAlthough Africa is the 2nd ranked continent worldwide in terms of population (following Asia), I believe it’s last when it comes to health awareness levels. Why are social media platforms efficient tools in health awareness? However, I believe that social media is the most efficient one for many reasons. Secondly, social media is very cost-effective compared with other above-the-line media such as TV or radio. That’s why I see that social media should be included as a main channel of communication in any health awareness campaign in Africa.
