A dumping of snow has covered high country farms in south Marlborough still recovering after severe flooding cut off their road access. A cold southwesterly front brought snow to low levels in south Marlborough on Monday morning, as well as across Canterbury and a rare dusting in central Wellington. In south Marlborough, farmers on the upper Awatere Valley Rd, woke up to snow blanketing their properties, after a night of gale force winds reaching 120kmh rattling through the valley. Elsewhere in Marlborough, road closures following damage from July’s storm event included parts of Queen Charlotte Drive, Kenepuru Rd, Kaiuma Bay Rd, Waihopai Valley Rd.
