In a report released by Snapchat , the company has dismissed claims made by a former employee who had alleged that the social media company's CEO Evan Spiegel was not interested in expanding the business to "poor countries" like India and Spain.The alleged comment by the Snapchat CEO went viral and had serious ramifications in the country as the app's rating plunged to 'one star' on the App store According to the Variety report, former employee Anthony Pompliano , who was fired by Snapchat, claimed Spiegel told him this during a meeting in 2015.“This app is only for rich people,” Spiegel said, according to Pompliano. “I don’t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain.”However, in a lengthy response, the company has dismissed the claims that were made by Anthony Pompliano. "Plaintiff Anthony Pompliano's latest move confirms that this litigation is just one big publicity stunt for him," said Snap.inc. "Snap did not give investors misstated user metrics back in 2015; nor did Snap employees commit any of the panoply of alleged bad acts that litter Pompliano's," added the report.Pompliano was allegedly fired from Snapchat and is a former Facebook employee.Pompliano's claims were made in a lawsuit , a copy of which was uploaded by Scribd user gmaddaus.You can read the entire document here.
