Eleven fire engines were called to house fire on Craig Rd, Maraetai. A house fire sent smoke billowing above the coastal town of Maraetai in southeast Auckland. The building was "fully involved in fire" when Fire and Emergency NZ arrived at the two-storey home on Craig Rd about 1.45pm on Thursday. Fire engines from Ōtara, Howick and Manurewa initially responded to the fire, but back up was required, bringing the total number of engines to 11.
