New Zealand cyclist Dion Smith to make World Tour debut with Mitchelton-ScottGETTY IMAGES Kiwi Dion Smith's versatility earned him a place in the Mitchelton-Scott team. The Kiwi contingent continues to grow at Mitchelton-Scott, following the addition of promising Auckland rider Dion Smith on a two-year contract. This has led Mitchelton-Scott sport director Matt White to believe Smith is ready to make the step up to the World Tour after three seasons in the second-tier Pro Continental ranks. "This will be his first World Tour team, he has been with Wanty-Groupe Gobert for a couple of years after One Pro Cycling and I think he is ready for that next step. He has obviously done two Tour de France's but to be regularly racing stage races in the World Tour will be good for him.
