KUALA LUMPUR: Smoke from a small fire started billowing in a popular shopping mall here Tuesday evening, causing chaos among shoppers. Smoke was detected on the lower ground floor of the shopping mall at around 8.15pm and a call was immediately placed to the Fire and Rescue Department. The fire is believed to have started in a small room on the third floor and was immediately brought under control. When contacted, the City Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said the small room housed a PVC pipe laden with rubbish, and a lit cigarette butt could have started the fire. Amidst the chaos, shoppers also found a woman receiving medical attention at the mall.
