One of the three al Shabaab gunmen who were killed after a failed attempt to destroy a communication mast in Wajir worked at a local garage as a mechanic. Security officials believe those behind his burial were in hurry to escape and conceal his past activities in Kenya. It is believed he was in the Wajir garage for a mission. Three of the militants were killed in the counter operations by the Kenyan security officials. Al-Shabaab insurgents have been attacking places in the region especially in Mandera and Garissa after breaching security zones, which left dozens of civilians and security officials dead or wounded.
