Six GECOL employees imprisoned for ten years and fined LD 1.46 million for theft of company materials


The Attorney General announced yesterday that the Criminal Court has issued a ruling convicting six employees of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL). The employees were convicted of the deliberate theft of equipment and supplies used to establish the electrical supply network and its maintenance. They were sentenced to ten years in prison and fined LD 1.466 million.
