Sisi praises Armed Forces’ commitment to national duty
CAIRO, Feb 21 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said that members of the Armed Forces always rise to their responsibilities, stressing that the nation’s strength lies in the cohesion of its institutions and the dedication of its leaders. His remarks came during a ceremony honoring Lt. Gen. Abdel Meguid Saqr, the former minister of defense. For his part, President Sisi praised Saqr’s national service and commitment in carrying out his duties to safeguard Egypt’s security, noting the Armed Forces’ role in protecting national security across all strategic directions and supporting state institutions in serving citizens. The ceremony was attended by Lt. Gen. Ashraf Salem Zahir, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and other senior military commanders. At the conclusion of the event, President Sisi approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. Abdel Meguid Saqr as Assistant to the President.
