Invercargill mayor Tim Shadbolt was in the passenger's seat of the mayoral car with his partner, Asha Dutt, driving on May 19. The driver’s licence of Invercargill mayor Sir Tim Shadbolt has been suspended, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has confirmed. The form says Shadbolt’s licence is due to expire on February 19, 2022 [when he turns 75]. A 1F licence is a full car licence and a 6F is a motorcycle licence. In emailed questions, Stuff asked Shadbolt why his licence had been suspended, and how having a suspended licence impacted on his ability to be mayor.
