Sindh government decides to sack 1,080 qualified headmasters in a year


KARACHI: Although, there is an education emergency declared in the province, the Sindh government has decided to sack at least 1,080 highly qualified headmasters/headmistresses within a span of one year, Pakistan Today has learnt. The sources told Pakistan Today that Sindh government had launched Sindh Education Sector Plan 2014-18 on November 29, 2014. In this regard, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) had granted $ 66 million to implement the Sindh Education Sector Plan 2014-18 and under the said plan, Sindh education department was to recruit 6,700 headmasters through transparent testing system till 2018. The education department, after severe protest and rallies by the qualified headmasters, appointed them just for two years period which is expiring in June 2019. No further extension shall be given”, according to an official notification available with Pakistan Today.
