Sindh Cabinet to decide on increase in doctors' allowances today
If approved, provincial government will have to pay an additional Rs5 billion annually to the 15,000 doctorsKARACHI: The Sindh chief minister has summoned a meeting of the provincial cabinet today (Monday) in Karachi. The cabinet meeting will be held at the Sindh secretariat building and will be headed by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. OPDs to open today as doctors call off strikeAccording to sources, the provincial government will have to pay an additional Rs5 billion annually to the 15,000 doctors working in public hospitals. On the other hand, the Sindh health department has expressed displeasure over the disappointing performance of the Sindh Government Children’s Hospital under the PPP model. However, the provincial government has decided to issue the funds to the NGO again and the funds would be restored after the approval of the cabinet meeting.
