Sime Darby's 2Q net profit more than doubles to RM644 mil, declares 6 sen dividend


In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Sime Darby reported a 4.3% increase in 2QFY17 revenue to RM12.34 billion, from RM11.83 billion a year ago. The group declared a dividend of 6 sen per share, to be paid on May 5, 2017. The Battersea project in which Sime Darby has a 40% stake in, recognised its maiden profit from the completion of two residential block units under Phase 1. Revenue for 1HFY17 increased by 2% to RM22.44 billion, from RM22 billion in the same period last year. At noon market close, Sime Darby shares closed down 1 sen (0.11%) to RM9.19, and for a market capitalisation of RM62.57 billion.
